_________________________________________________________________________

Used for centuries and known the world over for its ability to absorb and draw toxins and impurities from the body, Bentonite Clay has been a common ingredient in many beauty products, its main use being to pull out oil and impurities from the skin.

Bentonite clay is a good source of minerals, when ingested these minerals, such as Calcium, Magnesium, Silica, Sodium, Copper, Iron and Potassium, are absorbed into the body and viewed by many as a natural supplement, adding that beneficial mineral boost.  Whilst appreciating the mineral boost, it was Bentonite's ability to protect the healthy bacteria in our digestive tract, which in turn strengthens our immune system, that pushed it into our top ten.  Bentonite clay is superb at combating dietary toxins, & bacteria.  Ensuring a good gut health is vital to maintaining our over-all health and wellbeing and anything that helps with this is a winner in our books!

But firstly, what is Bentonite Clay?

Bentonite Clay is a natural clay, derived from volcanic ash. It is an odourless cream/grey soft, fine powder, and unlike many other clays, is super easy to work with, and doesn’t stain! Suitable for internal and external use It has been used for thousands of years to remove toxins from the body through adsorption and absorption.

What’s adsorption and how does it benefit me?
Good question… Toxins and impurities, (such as viruses, fungus, & bacteria, etc) carry a positive charge, whilst Bentonite Clay molecules carry a negative electrical charge. Adsorption describes the process by which negatively charged particles of clay bond with positively charged particles. The clay molecules act like magnets, attracting and holding the toxins and impurities without breaking them down.

And what about absorption?
Most people understand absorption a little better, it is basically the process by which one thing absorbs another. Bentonite clay is like a molecular sponge, absorbing toxins into its stacked layers. Ignoring negatively charged nutrients, absorbent clay (such as Bentonite) only absorbs positively charged toxins and impurities. As the clay leaves the body, it takes the toxins and impurities with it

Whilst adsorption and absorption is going on this special clay replaces what it takes away with a gift of healthy, strengthening and replenishing minerals, such as Magnesium, Copper, Iron, Silica, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium.

With so many benefits, you can easily make some simple home remedies that won’t cost the earth but will give fantastic results.  Here’s our top 7
